Manchester United has intensified their pursuit of Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag to fill their vacant managerial position at the end of the season.

Manchester United has been led by Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis since last November when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked before he will now resume fully at a higher position at the Premier League club.

The Red Devils have been linked with a couple of managers to fill the position at the end of the season when Ralf Rangnick leaves the position as an interim manager.

Former Tottenham manager and current Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino are on the shortlist of managers to fill with the job as well as Erik Ten Hag.

There are also considerations on Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui, Luis Enrique while the club is also monitoring the situation with Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea although the German manager had previously stated that he will stay at the blues till the end of the season.

“There’s no doubt I stay until the end of the season. We just have to wait day by day because everything can change. This result has a huge impact on us, to give this pleasure to our fans means a lot. It changes everything. Hundreds of people in this club are not so privileged, maybe face a more existential threat, and are more worried about their future than us.” Tuchel said.

Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag is still contracted to the Dutch club till 2023 but it’s not expected to be a stumbling block if Manchester United continues with their interest.

Ten Hag has spent 4 years at the Dutch club since joining in December 2017 and led them to a semifinal finish in the 2019 UEFA Champions League season. He has also led them to two Dutch league titles in 2019 and 2021 while they lead the Eredivisie with two points.
