According to reports in Chile, Claudio Bravo is among the goalkeepers that Celtic wants to sign.

The goalkeeper’s contract with Manchester City ends on June 30 but could be extended as the Premier League season was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will resume play soon.

A report by Chilean newspaper The Times suggests that Bravo could be a potential target for Celtic in a £1.2 million deal.

The outlet also suggests that Watford’s Ben Foster and Burnley’s Joe Hart are on the radar of the Scottish Premier League champions.

Celtic have Scott Bain and Craig Gordon on the payroll with head coach Neil Lennon also keen to sign Fraser Forster on a permanent deal.

Lennon admitted that he is keen to bring Forster and Southampton teammate Mohamed Elyounoussi back after his loan deal finished.

The winners of the Scottish Premier League for nine straight years want to search for someone, within their economic possibilities because of the coronavirus pandemic. The team will go through a major roster update and they have around 11 players that interested them, including Bravo.

A two-time Copa América winner with Chile, Bravo wants to stay with Manchester City but Celtic chairman Ian Bankier wants to sign him, as reported by Glasgow Live.

Bravo is 37 years old and has also won La Liga and the UEFA Champions League with FC Barcelona and the Premier League with Manchester City. Bravo’s experience could be vital for Celtic’s dressing room.

I doubt that Celtic signs both Forster and Bravo this summer. Bravo is likely an alternative if Celtic can’t agree on a deal for Forster and he returns to Southampton.
