Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva insists his side are not “invincible” as they try to go the rest of the season unbeaten in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola’s troops have yet to lose this season in the league but their match-winning run did come to an end on Sunday against Crystal Palace.

Their 0-0 draw moved them 12 points clear of Manchester United and City still look destined to win the league title once again.

They face a tricky FA Cup clash against Burnley on Saturday before they then turn their attention to the Carabao Cup as they welcome Bristol City to the Etihad Stadium.

Silva is expected to play his part in both games after injuries to Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus but he insists nobody can get carried away with their recent form.

He told Sky Sports: “In football, you are never invincible.

“Of course it has been good up until now. In the Premier League, we haven’t lost yet a game so it is very good for us and our confidence.

“But we have to keep working the same way we have been doing from the start of the season. That is what we will try and do.

It is good for the confidence not to have lost yet.” Silva believes their title credentials will be put through their paces against Liverpool on January 14 and he is expecting a tough game.

Liverpool are 2.70 to win, the draw is priced at 3.80, while Manchester City are priced at 2.40 to win all three points.
