Liverpool defender Andy Robertson remains upbeat about their chances of progressing in the Champions League despite Wednesday’s defeat at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Reds went down 2-1 in the French capital and now sit third in Group C, with just one game remaining.

Liverpool’s destiny remains in their own hands as a 1-0 win over current leaders Napoli at Anfield in their final group game or a victory by two or more goals would see them move ahead of the Serie A club.

The Merseysiders could also progress if they beat Napoli and PSG lose to Red Star Belgrade.

“We know how hard it is going to be against Napoli but we believe,” Robertson told the club’s official website.

“We believe at Anfield that we can create special nights and we will need our fans and need everyone behind us, and if we can create a special atmosphere then I’m sure the players will react and hopefully we can get the result we deserve.

“We never do it the easy way. The last campaign we were stronger through the group stage but we had to win in the last game and managed it so it’s the same this time.”

Liverpool are 1.60 to beat Napoli on December 11. PSG are 9.00 to win the Champions League outright, Liverpool are 17.00 and Manchester City are rated as the 4.33 favourites to claim Europe’s top prize.
