Ruben Loftus-Cheek expects to begin pre-season with Chelsea but he is unsure where he will be playing his football next season.

The 22-year-old midfielder has spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Crystal Palace and he has impressed during his time at Selhurst Park, making 23 Premier League appearances, while his form has also seen him earn international recognition with England.

Palace are reportedly interested in signing Loftus-Cheek on a permanent basis and the youngster has not ruled out a second spell with Roy Hodgson’s side, although he initially plans to return to Chelsea for pre-season.

Asked about his future by the Daily Mail, Loftus-Cheek said: “I haven’t made a decision on that yet but as things stand I plan to be back at Chelsea for pre-season.

“Being at Palace has been good. Roy is a really good coach and a really nice person.”

Loftus-Cheek is in line to make the final appearance of his Palace loan spell against West Brom at Selhurst Park on Sunday and he is keen to end the season strongly, as he still has a chance of playing at the World Cup with England this summer.

He added: “I need to see what happens this summer and right now I’m focused on staying fit and finishing the season well.”

Palace are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games and they are priced at 1.75 to beat the already-relegated Baggies on home soil, although Albion have improved of late and they are available at 4.33 to secure all three points, while the draw is on offer at 3.75.
