Burnley defender James Tarkowski has piled the praise on strike duo Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood
after the side’s third-straight win.

The Clarets continued their march towards the Europa League with a 2-1 win against West Brom on Saturday.

Sean Dyche’s men are now just five points behind Arsenal but could qualify for Europe if the winners of the FA Cup finish above them in the Premier League.

Both Barnes and Wood were on the scoresheet at the Hawthorns as they scored their seventh and and eighth league goals respectively.

Since starting the game against Everton, the duo have plundered seven goals between them in just 152 minutes and Tarkowski has been impressed by their impact.

Tarkowski is confident they can continue to fire until the end of the season.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: “They’re brilliant, you can see it out there with the amount of work they put in, the way they hold up the ball and the problems they’re causing, the link-up play.

“They’ve been terrific and they’ve got a bit of a past together from their time at Brighton. You can see that a little bit because they seem to link up well and hopefully they can keep scoring goals the way they are.”

Burnley are next in action on Saturday, April 7 when they travel to Watford.

The Hornets are 2.30 to win, with the draw 3.20 while the Clarets are priced at 3.40.
