Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe insists Callum Wilson will be on Gareth Southgate’s radar after his display during the win over Fulham on Saturday.

Wilson burst onto the scene two seasons ago but back-to-back serious knee ligament injuries derailed his progress.

The 26-year-old has since responded in fine fashion and he has been one of the club’s star performers this season. Wilson has scored five goals in 10 Premier League appearances to help the Cherries climb into sixth in the table.

He won a penalty and scored during the 3-0 success over Fulham and Howe is adamant his man will be on the verge of an England call up.

Howe said: “He is certainly going to be in Gareth’s mind, I have no doubt about that.

“Callum just has to keep doing what he is doing. If he continues to score and keeps doing well then it will only be a matter of time. The responsibility is with Callum to keep doing well for us.

“He is in a good place. Every game he has had chances and that is what is so likeable about Callum, he wants to score so he makes the right moves.

“He also does a lot of work for the team and when he got his moments (at Fulham) he was very efficient. He is a big player for the team.”

Wilson is set to start the next clash against Manchester United, with Bournemouth 3.50 to win. The draw is also 3.50, while Man Utd are 2.10 favourites.
