Paris Saint-Germain full-back Nuno Mendes could return to action late in January.

The 21-year-old Portuguese has not featured for Paris Saint-Germain since sustaining an injury in late April.
According to L’Équipe, he could make his long-awaited return in late January.

After weeks of consideration, PSG decided to operate on Mendes’ hamstring injury in September.

After the operation, PSG predicted a period of absence of around four months for him. This means he could be fit for the end of January.

According to L’Équipe, his recovery is on schedule, and he could be fit for the UEFA Champions League encounter against Real Sociedad in mid-February.

Les Parisiens’ transfer plans also seem to be a sign of optimism, as it had been reported that the Ligue 1 champions were looking to recruit a full-back in January, with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Aït-Nouri heavily linked with a move.

In another development, Paris Saint-Germain target Bernardo Silva has expressed his respect for manager Luis Enrique.
Although the Portuguese seemed to be against the idea of leaving Manchester City, the Skyblues decided to close the door to his courtiers.

Speaking on Wednesday with A Bola, the former Monaco player said he likes several coaches, including the PSG boss.
He further lauded the manager for his achievement with Barcelona and the evolution he has brought to Ligue 1.

“I am also very curious to discover, for example, Xabi Alonso, who has just started his career and is doing a great job at Leverkusen, or even Luis Enrique, who has done a great job at FC Barcelona and will now have the difficult task of taking PSG forward with this team. I like Spanish and German cultures. They are different, but I appreciate both ways of seeing football.”

PSG currently tops the Ligue 1 table ahead of the second half of the season.
