Paris Saint-Germain striker, Kylian Mbappe could become a Barcelona next summer after being linked with Real Madrid for several months.

Before the Frenchman signed a two-year extension with the club in 2022, Real Madrid were at the forefront of signing him as a free agent before being convinced by French President Emmanuel Macron to stay with the club.
However, a report emerged from the Catalan press stating Barcelona could overtake Madrid in the race to sign the 2018 World Cup winner.

The 25-year-old can have a pre-contract agreement with any club from the 1st of January as his present deal with the Parisien ends this summer.

He will definitely have several clubs looking for his signature as a free agent in the summer.
Mundo Deportivo reported that the Catalan club would attempt to take advantage of this situation with a reported incredible offer, suggesting that Barcelona would use the influx of money brought about by the Super League to convince him of their project.

This, they reportedly believe, will fend off interest from Real Madrid, and Mbappe will agree to support the club in its efforts to establish the new tournament.

However, this report seemed fanciful, with a pseudo-agreement between Mbappé and Barcelona resting on secret agreements between club presidents and on finances from a competition that does not yet exist.

Since Thursday in Spain marked the Day of the Holy Innocents, which is equivalent to April Fool’s Day, where people play practical jokes on one another, newspapers are no strangers to creating these hoaxes.

In reality, the unfortunate truth remains that Barcelona would watch their eternal rival begin the attempts to court one of the world’s greatest players, and they would play no part in deciding his future.

The club continues to battle debts that have led to the exit of high earners and top players. The reality is that outside of hoaxes, there will be no agreement to see Mbappé ply his trade with the Blaugrana.
