New Manchester United manager David Moyes has taken on three of his former Everton backroom staff ahead of the new Premier League season.

Steve Round will become Moyes’ assistant manager, Jimmy Lumsden comes in as coach, while Chris Woods is the new goalkeeping coach.

Moyes is pleased that the trio have all decided to join him in the new venture.

He said: “I have worked with Steve, Chris and Jimmy for a number of years and I am delighted they have decided to join me at this great club.

“They bring great qualities in their respective fields and I know that, like me, they feel that this is a challenge to relish.

“I have great faith that together, we can build upon the success this club has enjoyed over many years.”

Round has worked with Moyes since 2008, while former England keeper Woods had been at Goodison Park for the best part of 15 years.

Lumsden, at 65 the oldest of the trio, has been with Moyes since the pair were at Preston North End prior to the Scot taking the Everton job.

Moyes added: “They bring great qualities in their respective fields and I know that, like me, they feel that this is a challenge to relish.

“I have great faith that together, we can build upon the success this club has enjoyed over many years.”
