Manchester United boss David Moyes has hailed his first pre-season tour with the club a success after the defeat of Kitchee FC 5-2 in Hong Kong.

The pressure is on Moyes to continue the great work of Sir Alex Ferguson and the former Everton boss says he is settling into his new role very nicely.

The Scot is pleased with the way the players have responded to his ideas and methods during the tour and is confident they will have no problems working together.

“I’ve taken away a great experience of my first tour and what this club means around the world,” Moyes told Man United‘s official website.

“I’ve also got to know the players and I’ve settled in to my new environment. The players have been working with a great manager for a long time and they’ve got to know me.”

Goals from Danny Welbeck, Chris Smalling and Fabio da Silva had United 3-0 up at the break with Adnan Januzaj and Jesse Lingard concluding the scoring for the Reds.

United will now head back to England before almost immediately hopping on a plane again to head to Sweden to face AIK Fotboll in Stockholm on Tuesday.

Moyes also has transfer business to attend to including sorting Wayne Rooney’s future once and for all, while he will also step up his attempts to sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona.
