Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has praised Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contribution to the team, despite the forward’s recent struggles in front of goal.

The charismatic Swede joined the Red Devils on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and he made an impressive start to life in English football, scoring five goals in his first five appearances for the club.

The 35-year-old has struggled to maintain that early-season form however, adding just one more goal to his tally in his last 11 games, but despite his lack of goals, the former Paris Saint-Germain forward has received praise for his overall contribution from Mourinho.

“He is playing well for the team. He’s creating a lot of chances and missing a lot of goals,” Mourinho said.

“If I remember Stoke, Liverpool, Chelsea, Burnley, he missed a lot of goals but he was fantastic in his dynamic, his working, his building up for the team, he was fantastic.”

The Portuguese coach has been particularly impressed with Ibrahimovic’s attitude, insisting he has never had any problems with the former Sweden international since his arrival at Old Trafford.

Mourinho added: “His attitude is always brilliant. He’s not a guy afraid of his responsibility, so no problem at all.”

Ibrahimovic will be hoping to rediscover his goalscoring form when United travel to the Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Red Devils are available at 1.75 to secure all three points in South Wales, while the Swans are priced at 5.00 and the draw is on offer at 3.75.
