Manchester United are looking to exploit Southampton’s precarious financial situation and make a triple swoop for their players this summer.

Following United’s disastrous defence of the Premier League it has become apparent that the side need to strengthen.

With executive chairman Ed Woodward promising David Moyes a bottomless transfer kitty we can expect to see a whole host of new faces to be arriving at Old Trafford in the summer.

Southampton left-back Luke Shaw has long been muted as transfer target as doubts remain about the long-term future of Patrice Evra. The Red Devils are one of the England international’s many admirers; Spanish giants Real Madrid are the latest side to join the race.

It is reported that United are in the driving seat for the youngster despite it looking clear that the side will not have Champions League football next season, they are 10.12 on to beat Bayern Munich in Wednesday night’s quarter-final decider. Shaw wants first-team football and a £25million move to Old Trafford seems the likeliest place for him to get it.

Adam Lallana’s performances have turned many a head and it seems that the ever-present Saints captain has grabbed the attention of Moyes, who has the funds to entertain such a move, whilst ball-winning midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is another that has been identified as a target.

United needed a ball-winning midfielder and the Frenchman fits the bill perfectly.

Southampton have debts of £27million from transfer splurges both this season and last, however director Hams Hofstetter has insisted that the club are not in a situation where they need to sell their prized assets to make up the deficit, but you would think that some lucrative transfer offers would be impossible to ignore.
