France legend Zinedine Zidane has admitted Real Madrid are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.

The 1998 World Cup winner, who is the current coach of Real Madrid’s B team – Real Madrid Castilla – insists the Spanish giants are in the running to sign the 22-year-old, who looks set to leave Juventus.

Pogba has been a key player for the Turin outfit since joining the club in 2012 from Manchester United after growing frustrated with a lack of games under former Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 23-cap France star has won Serie A three times in the famous black and white shirt and was also part of the side that did the double last season before being beaten by Barcelona in the Champions League final in Berlin.

However, Pogba looks set to be on the move this summer and Real are looking to steal a march on other clubs said to be interested like Manchester City, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

Zidane told French broadcaster RTL: “Many clubs are interested in him and among these is Real Madrid.

“I think Pogba is a fantastic player. What I like most is that it can do everything. He is a complete player, who can also score, who is not afraid to go forwards. In terms of quality, he is extraordinary.”

Fitness permitting, Pogba is set to play a key role for France next summer when they host Euro 2016.

Les Bleus are 4.75 second favourites behind Germany (4.00) to win the European Championship next summer which would be their first success in the tournament in 16 years.
