Liverpool teenager Jordan Ibe is eager to establish himself in the starting line-up next season.

The 19-year-old winger managed 14 appearances for the Reds last season after being recalled early from a loan spell at Derby County, and Ibe wants to be more involved in 2015-16.

Raheem Sterling’s move to Manchester City may well have opened up a spot in the first-team for Ibe and he hopes to impress in pre-season to ensure he is in boss Brendan Rodgers’s plans.

“It’s a chance for me to prove myself to the gaffer and hopefully I can get a chance to play in the Premier League,” Ibe told Channel 9 when asked about the void left by Sterling’s exit.

He added: “Hopefully I can do well in the pre-season, improve and show I can play in the first team.

“It’s been a lot of hard work, a lot of double sessions, but I’m enjoying the training, hopefully when the season starts we’re all fit and we can win games.”

Liverpool may have lost Sterling but Rodgers has been busy strengthening this summer and the imminent arrival of Christian Benteke, following the captures of the likes of James Milner and Roberto Firmino, should ensure they are better placed to mount a top-four challenge in the coming campaign.

Liverpool are 3.50 to secure a top four finish or 26.00 to win the Premier League outright.
