Kylian Mbappe says he is excited about the chance to continue his progression after finally completing his move to Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday.

The teenager has been heavily linked with Europe’s big guns over the summer, following his brilliant breakthrough campaign with Monaco last term.

PSG soon became the favourites, with Mbappe having been born in the Parisian suburb of Bondy.

Following the recent world record signing of Neymar, Les Parisiens had to find a way to work around the Financial Fair Play rules and the 18-year-old has joined on an initial loan, with the option to sign permanently for a fee believed to be in the region of £160m.

His new club are now 1.07 to reclaim their Ligue 1 title, but it is the Champions League they truly want and Unai Emery’s men are 7.50 to lift the trophy for the first time.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has admitted the deal was finally completed with “a lot of emotion and satisfaction” and the forward himself has conceded he is excited to get going.

“It is with great joy and pride that I join Paris Saint-Germain,” Mbappe told the club’s official website.

“For any young person from the Paris region, it is often a dream to wear the red and blue jersey and experience the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes.

“I really wanted to be a part of the club’s project, which is one of the most ambitious in Europe.

Alongside my new team-mates, I intend to continue my progression while helping the team achieve the very big objectives it has set itself.”
