Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has been linked with a move to Inter Milan after reports claimed he is “sad” in the Spanish capital.

The 33-year-old is currently in his seventh season with Los Blancos after moving to the Bernabeu from Tottenham in 2012, and has played an integral part in their success.

The Croatia international midfielder has scored 13 goals in 268 appearances in all competitions, with four Champions League winner’s medals plus the 2016-17 La Liga title under his belt.

He also has one Copa del Rey triumph on his CV and it was thought that the former Dinamo Zagreb ace would end his career with Real.

That may well still be the case but, according to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Modric is unhappy at the club and a much-reported move to Inter ‘is still in his thoughts’.

Compatriots Sime Vrsaljko, Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic all play with the Nerazzurri and that may well have an influence on his future thinking.

It was claimed over the summer that the Italian outfit offered Modric a six-year contract, which would see him play with them for four years, before moving to Chinese sister club Jiangsu Suning.

Those reports were never substantiated and only time will tell if he sees out the season with his present employers.

Real have made a slow start to their current campaign and sit fourth in the table, with two league defeats already and they can be backed at 3.60 to rediscover their form and go on to win the title.
