West Ham captain Kevin Nolan has revealed he will hold talks with boss Slaven Bilic as he looks to get assurances over his playing time during the 2015-16 campaign.
Nolan has been with the Hammers since sealing a switch from Newcastle in 2011, making 139 appearances under former boss Sam Allardyce.
The 33-year-old has played under Allardyce on a couple of occasions having also signed for Newcastle when the 60-year-old was at the helm.
However, since the appointment of Bilic following the conclusion of the 2014-15 season, Nolan has grown concerned about his role.
The midfielder is entering the final year of his current deal with the Upton Park outfit and is keen to get as many minutes on the pitch as possible.
West Ham, who can be backed at 51.00 to win the Europa League, have already played four competitive games in the Europe and saw off Lusitanos and edged past Birkirkara over two legs, although Nolan was only selected to face the latter.
With the prospect of limited game time, Nolan has admitted that he does not have many years left in his career and believes talks are required to decide where his future might lie.
Nolan said: “I have made my feelings known that I don’t want to be sitting on the bench. I want to be playing and give my all in training.
“If that’s good enough, then great. If not, we’ll have to sit down and see where we go from there.
“I’m coming to the tail-end of my career and I’ve got to do what’s best for me and my family. To be fair, we haven’t got that far yet but we’ll see.”
