Everton’s Kevin Mirallas hopes that in-form teammate Romelu Lukaku can inspire the club to FA Cup glory this season.

The Belgian striker hit a double in the last-eight clash at Goodison Park as the Toffees knocked out Chelsea and they now await either West Ham or Manchester United in the semi-finals later this month.

Lukaku scored both goals against his former club Chelsea and has helped himself to six goals in his last ten Everton appearances.

He also found the net for Belgium in their recent friendly with Portugal and Mirallas hopes his compatriot can keep his recent burst going until the end of the season.

According to Mirallas, Lukaku is a contender for individual honours this season, given the form that has led to 25 goals in all competitions.

“For me, he is the best player of the season so far,” Mirallas told evertontv. “He has scored a lot of goals in each competition so thank you for that Rom! I hope he continues like that because I would like to win the FA Cup.”

Lukaku’s 18 league goals leave him behind only Harry Kane [22] and Jamie Vardy [19] in the race for the Golden Boot and Mirallas thinks his teammate has a chance to overhaul the front two in the closing weeks of the season.

“I know he is going for the Golden Boot but he is behind Kane and Vardy is in there too. We have eight league games left and Rom has the quality to score a lot of goals,” said Mirallas.

Everton are 3.50 to win the FA Cup this season, while West Ham are 4.50 and Manchester United are 5.00.
