Brazil boss Tite was quick to praise winger Richarlison after he scored the only goal during Tuesday’s friendly win over Cameroon in Milton Keynes.

The Everton star started the game on the bench but soon found himself in the thick of the action after replacing Neymar in the eighth minute.

Neymar limped off with a groin issue but Brazil did not miss his presence as Richarlison stepped up to the mark.

The former Watford man headed home on the stroke of half-time to continue his recent streak for the Selecao.

He has now scored three goals in six appearances and Tite insists he continues to impress him during each training camp.

Tite said: “I was not surprised by Richarlison’s performance. What I saw today was the continuation of him always coming on and playing well for Brazil.

“In his first game, he really impressed with his incision and his finishing, both his head and on the floor.

“I’ve also seen him play on the wing for Brazil and play really well and because of his qualities in training, we can also imagine him playing as a second striker as well. He’s someone who’s really impressed me since coming into the team.”

Richarlison will now return to Everton duties this weekend for the meeting with Cardiff at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are 1.44 favourites, with the draw 4.33, while Cardiff remain big outsiders at odds of 8.00. Richarlison is the favourite to score first at odds 4.75, while he is 2.25 to score anytime.
