Goalkeeper Joe Hart says he is already looking forward to his first clash at the London Stadium when West Ham United go up against Huddersfield Town on September 11.

England international Hart has joined West Ham on a season-long loan deal this summer from Manchester City and he is expected to be handed the number one jersey ahead of Spaniard Adrian.

The Hammers face a tough start to their Premier League campaign with three successive away matches against Manchester United, Southampton and newly-promoted Newcastle United.

Slaven Bilic’s men, who are 15.00 to record a top-six finish this term, will be hoping for a positive result when his side make the trip to Old Trafford on Sunday for a 4pm kick-off. The hosts, who could hand a debut to Belgian Romelu Lukaku following his £90million arrival from Everton this summer, are 1.29 favourites to clinch all three points, a draw is priced at 5.25 while the visitors are 10.00 outsiders to cause an upset.

Hart is already thinking ahead to the first home match of the season against the Terriers next month and he admits picking up wins on home form will be crucial.

“We know how important our home form will be this season if we are to achieve our targets, and we are all massively looking forward to our first Premier League game at London Stadium,” he was quoted as saying by whufc.com.

“We start against Huddersfield Town under the floodlights and it’s going to be big game in front of a big TV audience. We all want to kick-off with a win and the support of the fans will give us a big boost on the night.”
