Hal Robson-Kanu feels he made the right decision in biding his time before signing a two-year deal with West Brom.
The Wales international forward allowed his contract at Reading to expire at the end of last season, finding himself club-less as he starred for Chris Coleman’s side at Euro 2016.
Robson-Kanu scored twice for Wales in France, famously netting in the 3-1 quarter-final win over Belgium in Lille.
He hasn’t played since the last-four defeat to Portugal but the 27-year-old felt his patience in waiting for a move had paid dividends after he signed on with Tony Pulis’ Baggies.
“It was an important decision for me and my family and we took our time,” he told the West Brom website.
“But it’s a fantastic club and manager and I’m really happy to be here.
“I’m particularly pleased to be back in the Premier League. I am grateful for everything that Reading have done for me and I enjoyed my time there.”
Fellow Welshman Pulis is delighted with his capture and said Robson-Kanu had shot himself to prominence with his performances in France this summer.
“Everybody enjoyed watching Hal’s contribution to the Welsh performances at the Euros and we’re pleased to have him on board,” said Pulis.
Robson-Kanu is with Coleman and the Welsh squad as they prepare for their opening 2018 World Cup qualifier against Moldova in Cardiff on Monday. He could make his Baggies bow in their trip to Bournemouth on September 10.
West Brom are 4.00 to win the clash at the Vitality Stadium while Bournemouth are 2.00 and the draw is 3.20.
