Franck Ribery believes Carlo Ancelotti’s relaxed style of management can bring out the best in the Bayern Munich players.

The Italian arrived at the Allianz Arena earlier this summer and has been charged with the task of guiding the Bavarians to European glory, having fallen at the semi-final stage of the Champions League in all three of Pep Guardiola’s seasons in charge.

Whereas Guardiola is known for his intensity and the demands he places on his players in training, Ancelotti’s reputation has been built on his excellent man-management skills.

His methods have helped him win the Champions League with both AC Milan and Real Madrid while he also has Serie A, Premier League and Ligue 1 titles on his coaching CV.

Ribery says the 57-year-old has already made a strong impression on the players and believes his easy-going approach is exactly what is needed this season.

“Carlo Ancelotti is a chilled, accessible guy. He loves his players, that’s what we realise,” he told Goal. “He is looking for contact, he laughs with us, he asks us how we are every day.

This relationship is important. “It’s important you can have fun together.

If you spend so much time with each other you can’t talk all the time only about football. “Ancelotti is a champion in all respects. Otherwise it would be impossible to create such a harmonious atmosphere.

That’s how you are successful together.” Bayern continue their Bundesliga campaign on Friday away at Schalke and are 1.30 to win, with the draw 5.50 and the Gelsenkirchen outfit are 10.00.
