Defender Filipe Luis is delighted to have completed a “dream” move from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea for a transfer fee of £15.8million on a three-year contract.
Luis revealed earlier in the week that he was keen on linking up with the squad at Stamford Bridge from the moment last season ended.
The 28-year-old played an integral role in helping the Los Rojiblancos to claim their first La Liga title since 1996 last term, while also reaching the Champions League final.
The Brazil international spent a month out injured with a thigh problem last season but still made 44 appearances for boss Diego Simeone.
Chelsea, who are 2.80 to win the Premier League, have made the defender their fourth signing of the summer and second from Atletico after Diego Costa completed a £32million move on Tuesday.
The former Deportivo La Coruna man admitted that he was delighted to have finally completed the switch and is looking forward to life in England.
Luis said: “This move is a dream come true for me.
“I now have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, and also in the Premier League.”
The Blues have also added Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona and Mario Pasalic from Hajduk Split, while Thibaut Courtois has returned from his loan spell with Atleti.
