PSG midfielder Fabian Ruiz will not be available for his team’s decisive Champions League fixture away to Borussia Dortmund due to a shoulder injury.

According to Le Parisien, the Spanish midfielder dislocated his shoulder in last weekend’s Ligue 1 game against Le Havre.

This now adds to the midfield headache for Luis Enrique, who has been star youngster Warren-Zaïre Emery. The Frenchman has been ruled out of action after sustaining an ankle I injury during his debut for the France national team.
This becomes a problematic situation for the former Barcelona and Spain coach ahead of a crucial game, which will decide whether or not the Parisians will move on to the next rounds of the competition.

Ruiz, who joined Les Parisien, has been in good form this season after an underwhelming first year at the club. He found a more balanced role in the PSG midfield, serving as a safe point for his team when trying to retain possession against the opposition press.

He has played 16 games in all competitions this season for the club, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
This means the 27-year-old will be out of action for the next Ligue 1 game against FC Nantes, who handed OGC Nice their first defeat of the season next Saturday.

In a related development, the current situation has put Enrique on the lookout for a new, experienced midfielder to sign during the Winter transfer window.

According to Le Parisien, it’s a bigger priority than signing a new left-back to cover for injury-prone Nuno Mendes.
PSG will also be short in the department as Korean midfielder Kang-In Lee will miss the start of the calendar year due to the Asian Cup.

The options he would have by then, barring further injury setbacks, would be Vitinha, Manuel Ugarte, Danilo Pereira, Carlos Soler, and Cher Ndour.
