The Netherlands has finished Group C in their ongoing European Championship after defeating North Macedonia 3-0 at the Amsterdam Arena.

Holland opened the goal through their talisman, Memphis Depay, through a devastating counter-attack. Centre back Daley Blind began the move after winning a tackle on the edge of his box. Depay strikes the ball the first time from Donyell Malen’s cross.

Giorgio Wijnaldum, who recently left Liverpool for PSG, wrapped the game up in the second half with two goals in seven minutes. The first was from tapping in from Depay’s well-placed cross. He got his brace after Macedonian goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski pushed Depay’s cross to his path for another close-range finish.

This means the Dutch will travel to Budapest for their last-16 tie, where they will play any team that finishes in third-place from Group D, E or F on 27 June.

On the other hand, Austria secured the second spot after edging Ukraine 1-0 in their other group match.

Group D comprises England, Croatia, Czech Republic and Scotland. As it stands, Czech is on top of the group after winning their first match against Scotland (3-1) and holding Croatia to a 1-1 draw in the second.
