Sunderland were one of the busiest clubs on deadline day as three new players arrived at the Stadium of Light, while a further two were allowed to leave on loan.

Republic of Ireland international Marc Wilson was the first man through the door on Wearside, as he put pen to paper on a one-year contract after arriving from Bournemouth on a free transfer.

Welsh midfielder Jonny Williams soon followed, but his move to the north east is only temporary, as he joined on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace.

Callum McManaman completed the trio of new signings at the Stadium of Light as he joined the Black Cats on a two-year deal from West Brom.

All three players could be in line to make their Sunderland debuts during next weekend’s home clash with Sheffield United in the Championship.

The Black Cats are priced at 2.05 to win that match, while the Blades are available 3.60 and the draw is on offer at 3.40.

Two players who will not be available for that match are Wahbi Khazri and Papy Djilobodji, who both departed the club on deadline day, joining Rennes and Dijon on loan respectively.

Sunderland have now signed 10 players since they were relegated from the Premier League last season, while a further 15 have left the club on either a permanent or temporary basis.

Simon Grayson’s side are currently 19th in the Championship standings after collecting five points from their opening five league matches of the new season.
