Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed striker Daniel Sturridge and midfielder Jordan Henderson are nearing a return to action ahead of the Reds’ clash at home to Norwich on Sunday.

Sturridge has not featured for the Merseyside outfit this season having endured an extremely torrid time with a hip problem.

The England forward went under the knife to resolve the injury back in May and has finally got his first week of training with the first-team under his belt.

Skipper Henderson has missed Liverpool’s last three Premier League games with a heel injury picked up against Bournemouth but now both players could feature at some point against the Canaries, according to Rodgers.

Rodgers said: “Jordan will train today, Daniel has been training with the team for a week or so, so will be assessed.

“We’ve got players hopefully coming back that will add to the squad and see us go on a run of games.”

Having suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of old rivals Manchester United in their last outing in the Premier League, Liverpool will be desperate to get back to winning ways against the Canaries at Anfield this weekend.

Norwich make the trip to Merseyside looking to build on what was an impressive 3-1 win over fellow newly-promoted side Bournemouth.

The Canaries are 5.50 to make it back-to back wins and get the three points at Anfield, with Liverpool at 1.67 to claim the victory on home soil and the draw at 3.80.
