Chile captain Claudio Bravo was delighted with his side’s win over Uruguay but stressed they cannot afford to lose focus.

The host nation progressed to the semi-finals of the Copa American thanks to a 1-0 win over Uruguay, the defending champions, with Mauricio Isla on target for Chile.

Uruguay finished the game with nine men as forward Edinson Cavani was dismissed in the second half and defender Jorge Fucile was sent off late on after picking up a second booking.

Cavani’s dismissal proved crucial as the game had been finely balanced up to that point, with Isla grabbing the game’s only goal in the final 10 minutes after the PSG star had been shown a second yellow card.

Chile now face either Bolivia or Peru in the last four on Monday and Barcelona keeper Bravo insists his side will not be celebrating their quarter-final victory.

“It was a tough match. We know they always are against Uruguay,” he told La Tercera.

“We are going to the next phase. We are always hopeful. We try to give our maximum, but now we have to rest and think about the next opponent.

“We have not yet fulfilled our aim of reaching the final.”

Bolivia are 5.00 to beat Peru on Friday while the draw is 3.25 and Peru are 1.85 to win.

Chile are the current 2.50 favourites to win the Copa America outright as they chase a maiden title.
