Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber knows Rajiv van La Parra well, so it really isn’t unsurprising that the Dutch winger has been swiftly linked to the Canaries after becoming a free agent.

According to The Daily Mail, the 28-year-old is a target for Norwich City following his departure from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade, after an unsuccessful stint with them.

Rajiv van La Parra has his half-brother Georginio Wijnaldum in the Premier League already, as he plays for Liverpool. van La Parra joined Red Star Belgrade from Huddersfield last summer for three years and around £1.2million. Red Star Belgrade decided to cut costs and both parties agreed to end his contract in March.

The report from The Daily Mail also claims that Swansea City, Blackburn Rovers, Millwall and Queens Park Rangers want to sign the former Holland Under-21 international.

A product of the Feyenoord youth academy, Rajiv van La Parra debuted in professional football with Caen in the Ligue 1 in 2008. He then moved to Heerenveen in the Eredivisie and had 16 goals and 13 assists in 97 games.

His play caught the eye of Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2014, where current Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber was the head of scouting at the time.

The talented winger had strong start in England when he joined Wolves on a free transfer. He actually made his debut against Norwich City and made a difference, setting the game’s lone goal in a 1-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers win and he also forced Martin Olsson into receiving a second yellow card after breaking through.
