New Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri says he will have funds available in the January transfer window but for now he is happy with his current squad.

The Italian was brought in to replace Slavisa Jokanovic last week and hasn’t had chance to take a look at all of his players due to the international break.

Fulham are bottom of the table with just five points from 12 games but Ranieri feels they can compete in the Premier League, while admitting he may strengthen when the winter window opens.

The former Leicester and Chelsea boss confirmed he has been assured by owner and chairman Shahid Khan that funds will be available.

“I spoke with the chairman about this,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.

“There are some people that are working [on recruitment] and then they put to me some players.

“They show me the name and after I have to choose who is the right player for us – I am happy with that.

“For now I have to work with these players. I haven’t met them all yet because of the international break – but already I love them. I want them to bring their best.

“After, if there is something, I can say to the chairman ‘I need another player because I need this kind on the team’ – that’s another thing.”

Fulham host relegation rivals Southampton in the next round of Premier League fixtures after the international break and are 2.63 to claim a win.

The Cottagers are 9.50 to win 2-1 and a home win with over 2.5 goals is 3.80.
