Aleksandar Mitrovic is adamant he has the quality required to be a big hit for Fulham in the Premier League this season.
The Serbia international never really got the chance to shine for Newcastle United in England’s top flight and he was shipped out on loan to Fulham in the second half of last season.
He made a huge impact for the Cottagers as the striker scored 12 goals from 20 Championship appearances to help the club earn promotion from the Championship via the play-offs.
Mitrovic signed permanently for the west London club this summer in a deal worth a rumoured £27million and he started Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace.
The 23-year-old was denied on numerous occasions throughout the match but despite failing to find the back of the net, he is confident he can fire his side to safety this term.
“I want to show everybody that I can play in the best league in the world and score goals. Goals are like an addiction. When you score you want more and more,” Mitrovic told The Telegraph.
“I know it is going to be hard. It is a better league with much more quality. But I know I have the ability, I have the quality.”
Fulham face a difficult trip to Wembley on Saturday to take on Tottenham Hotspur and the visitors are massive 11.00 outsiders to win, a draw is priced at 5.50 whilst Spurs are 1.29 favourites.
Slavisa Jokanovic named seven new signings in his starting 11 against the Eagles and the manager could be tempted to ring the changes after seeing his side lose their opener.
