AC Milan will be without Brazilian forward Robinho for the first-leg of their Champions League last-16 showdown with Atletico Madrid.

The striker suffered a thigh injury during Milan’s 3-1 defeat at Napoli on Sunday and was replaced by compatriot Kaka at half-time.

Milan have now confirmed the 30-year-old will miss the meeting with the Spanish outfit on February 19.

A statement from Milan read: “Robinho has sustained a muscular injury in his left thigh.

“The Brazilian striker will undergo further tests next week.”

Robinho, who has managed a modest three goals in 18 appearances for the Rossoneri this season, will be keen to recover in time for the second-leg at the Vicente Calderon on March 11.

Atletico also have injury concerns and will definitely be without midfielder Tiago for the trip to Italy after he suffered a fractured wrist and ligament damage in their defeat at Almeria.

Tiago will undergo wrist surgery on Tuesday but is not set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, meaning he could be fit for the second-leg next month.

Milan are 3.16 to secure victory in the first-leg, the draw is 3.06 and Atleti can be backed at 2.29.
