Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said the win for the Blues against Maccabi Tel Aviv was vital for the club’s confidence.

The former Barcelona star netted the fourth goal and had a hand in the third as Chelsea got back to winning ways in the Champions League and Fabregas now wants the squad to now take that form and transfer it into the Premier League.

The current champions have had a dreadful start to the defence of their title and sit 11 points behind current leaders Manchester City

The Spaniard said: “This was a vital win, a top performance from start to end and we need Chelsea to play like this week in and week out.

“Hopefully it is the start of a long run for us to put smiles back on our faces and get the confidence back.”

Jose Mourinho’s men are back in Premier League action this weekend when they host London rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

Despite their poor start to the campaign, Chelsea are still favourites going into the match at 2.38, with the draw 3.40 and Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal are 3.00.

Wenger’s record against Mourinho is poor and the Community Shield win back in August was his first victory against his Portuguese rival.
