Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has rubbished reports claiming Christian Pulisic is set to sign for Chelsea in the January transfer window.

USA international Pulisic has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and recent reports have suggested the Blues are closing in on a deal in the new year.

The 20-year-old started for the States in Thursday’s 3-0 friendly defeat to England at Wembley and although he ended up on the losing side, his performance did not go unnoticed.

Liverpool are also said to be showing an interest in the midfielder, whose contract expires in the summer of 2020, and the Reds are expected to test BVB’s resolve in January.

However, any potential suitors look like they will have to wait until the end of the season to make a move after Zorc dismissed speculation Pulisic is set for an exit.

He told German newspaper Kicker: “We have known these rumours for many years. We plan at least until the end of the season with him.”

Pulisic has struggled for starts this season, with just four in the Bundesliga to date, but he could be reinstalled to the first team for Saturday’s trip to Mainz.

Lucien Favre’s men, who are four points clear at the top and priced at 2.00 to land the title this season, are 1.67 favourites to pick up the win, a draw is priced at 4.00 whilst the hosts are 5.00 outsiders.

Mainz are ninth in the standings heading into the contest after recording back-to-back victories over Werder Bremen and Freiburg.
