Bayern Munich defender Juan Bernat has stepped up his recovery from an ankle injury.

Bernat is yet to make an appearance for the Bavarians this season after picking up the injury during the summer.

The club have now confirmed the 24-year-old Spaniard has returned to training and will up his workload in the coming days ahead of a return to competitive action.

Bayern overcame RB Leipzig on penalties in the DFB Pokal on Wednesday and face the same opponents in the Bundesliga at Allianz-Arena on Saturday.

Bayern are 1.33 to claim all three points on Saturday, Leipzig can be backed at 8.50 and a draw is 5.50.

James Rodriguez was a late withdrawal on Wednesday with a back problem but he has trained since and could face Leipzig in the league this weekend.

Bayern go into the next round of fixtures in second spot in the Bundesliga table but they are only behind leaders Borussia Dortmund on goal difference.

Leipzig are in third spot and just one point behind the two pacesetters.

Bayern will be missing a few key men on Saturday regardless of whether or not James recovers in time as Thomas Muller, Franck Ribery and Manuel Neuer are all absent.

Bayern are 9.50 to beat Leipzig 3-0, while Arjen Robben is 5.25 to score the first goal of the game.
