Bayern Munich kicked off their German Cup as they enjoyed a stellar ride after defeating Viktoria Koln 5-0 on Wednesday night.

Goals from Ryan Gravenberch, Mathys Tel, Sadio Mane, Jamal Musiala, and Leon Goretzka were enough to secure an emphatic win for the Bavarians.

The game kicked off, and Bayern got things ticking almost immediately after the half-hour mark as Gravenberch scored his maiden goal in the 35th minute.

With halftime fast approaching, 17-year-old Mathys Tel opened his account for the season as he poked home to double his side’s lead. The teenager who joined the Bavarians from French side Rennes impressed as he looked to make his mark on the first team.

Bayern returned for the second half as Senegalese international Saido Mane further stretched the lead through th4 simplest of tap-ins to make it 3-0 in the 56th minute.
Jamal Musiala joined the party in the 67th minute to increase the lead 4-0. There was more misery for the home side as fit again Leon Goretzka completed the rout in the 82nd minute for five nil.

Speaking after the game, Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann revealed how impressed he was with his side in the win.

“I am happy for this win, especially after the draw at the weekend. This will give us the confidence and mental strength needed for the next game on Saturday. “He said.
This was a good win for Bayern as they bounced back from their disappointing 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach during the weekend. They will look to get back to winning ways as they make the trip to Union Berlin on Saturday, 3rd September 2022, by 2:30 pm.
