Barcelona have revealed that no bid has been received for Pedro, despite speculation linking the player with a potential move to Manchester United.

With Angel Di Maria set to move to Paris Saint Germain, Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal is rumoured to be eyeing up Pedro as a replacement for the Argentine.

The 28-year-old Spaniard has found playing time hard to come by since Luis Suarez arrived from Liverpool last summer.

Pedro started just 25 games in all competitions as Barcelona swept before them last season, winning a treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League.

Catalan newspaper Sport has reported that Pedro has decided to leave the Camp Nou but Barca president Jose Maria Bartomeu has told ESPN that he does not expect any player to leave this summer.

He says the Spanish champions have not been approached by any club regarding Pedro’s future.

“The team is what it is,” he said. “It has been put together. We have the team that our coach wanted – it’s done and completed.

“We don’t foresee any departures from the team. I’ve read many things about a Pedro departure, but no one has officially addressed our club. Our squad is complete.”

With Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi now Barcelona’s established front trio, Pedro may be at the stage in his career where he elects to follow the lead of Alexis Sanchez and depart Luis Enrique’s team in favour of more first-team football.

Barcelona are 1.67 to retain the La Liga title next season with Rafael Benitez’s Real Madrid 2.40 and Atletico Madrid 15.00.
