Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is fit for his side’s crucial trip to Barcelona on Saturday, according to reports in Spain.
The star forward missed his side’s 1-1 draw with Malaga on Sunday with a muscle injury and it had been feared he would miss the showdown with title rivals Barca at Camp Nou this weekend.
Atletico will claim the Spanish title if they avoid defeat in Barcelona, while the hosts will claim the top prize if they win the match.
Los Rojiblancos are 4.46 to secure the win and the draw can be backed at 3.52, while Barcelona are 1.78 to claim all three points.
Reports in Spain claim Costa held a meeting with head coach Diego Simeone and the club’s medical staff at Atleti’s training ground on Tuesday.
It is now understood that the 25-year-old has been told by doctors he will be able to face Barcelona this weekend.
Meanwhile, Costa has been heavily linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderon this summer.
Costa, who has been included in Spain’s preliminary World Cup squad and is expected to make the final 23-man party, has been tipped to join Chelsea and it has been claimed a £32million move to Stamford Bridge has already been agreed.
However, the Atletico star insists there is no truth in the rumours.
“People say a lot of stupid things,” Costa is quoted as saying by Marca when asked about the speculation whilst signing autographs outside Atleti’s training ground on Wednesday.
