Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has made his first significant move of the summer by confirming a deal to make Scott Sinclair a permanent fixture at Villa Park.
The Manchester City midfielder had been on loan in the Midlands since January but Villa have now snapped him up on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old has scored three times in 11 appearances for Villa and helped them to secure a place in this month’s FA Cup semi-Final, whilst also staving off the threat of relegation from the Premier League.
Sinclair has been much travelled in his career to date. He joined Chelsea from Bristol Rovers in 2005 but made only a handful of appearances for the Stamford Bridge club, with six loan spells in his five years.
After impressing during his time with Swansea he secured what turned out to be another ill-fated dream move, this time to Man City.
He found himself on loan at West Brom in 2013 before joining Villa this term.
With a trip to Wembley looming on May 30th, Sinclair is delighted to have joined Villa on a permanent basis.
“This is the happiest I have been in a long time,” said Sinclair, who started only three times for Manchester City.
“I believe that will help me perform better and push on for this great club in the coming years.”
Aston Villa are 5.85 to defeat Arsenal in the FA Cup Final. The Gunners, current holder of the cup, are 1.52 with the draw available at 3.98.
