Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been named in the Wales squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Serbia this month.
Ramsey was absent for Wales’ opening World Cup qualifying victory over Moldova and the draws with Austria and Georgia that followed.
The Arsenal schemer was sidelined by a hamstring injury but returned to action in the Champions League clash with Ludgorets Razgrad on Tuesday night.
The Wales international played for 75 minutes of the victory in midweek and national boss Chris Coleman is ready to take a gamble.
The 25-year-old had been out since August 14 when he picked up the injury in the defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League.
Coleman said it was a “no-brainer” to bring Ramsey back into the set-up as he feels he can add a lot to the Dragons.
Coleman said: “He is a huge part of what we are trying to do – a massive part of that with the talent he possesses.
“It was pleasing to see he got so much game-time last night, and he got an assist for the second goal, so fantastic.
“We have never taken risks with players, and we wouldn’t with Aaron Ramsey. “With somebody as good as Aaron, something is better than nothing, but we will have to wait and see after this weekend.”
Coleman has also recalled midfielder Jonny Williams after his recent injury lay-off as Wales, who are priced at 3.25 to top Group D, look to boost their 2018 World Cup qualification chances.
