Angel Di Maria has warned his Paris Saint-Germain side that they will need to shackle Mesut Ozil when they face Arsenal on Wednesday.

The pair are currently tied at the top of Champions League Group A, with the Gunners leading the standings by virtue of their superior goal difference.

With both already through to the the last 16, Wednesday’s game takes on extra importance, as the teams know finishing top of their pool will be key when it comes to seedings for the second round draw.

The 28-year-old won this competition with Real Madrid in 2014 and has made no secret of his desire to repeat the trick with Les Parisiens, who are 2.15 to top the pool, while Arsene Wenger’s side are 1.70.

Arsenal are currently on a run of 17 unbeaten and Di Maria says his side have a good idea of what to expect in North London, with Ozil especially set to come in for extra attention.

The Argentine admits Wednesday’s clash will be key to the outcome of their campaign and believes keeping the German playmaker quiet will be vital to their chances of taking all three points at the Emirates.

“They’re very strong on the counterattack,” Di Maria told UEFA’s official website. “Ozil is a top-quality player – his passing is very good, and he’s got some very quick players around him.

But we’re doing well in this Champions League. “We’ve still got two more matches to play, and we have to keep on working.

Our objective is to finish top of the group.” PSG are 3.20 to win at the Emirates, with the draw 3.40 and Arsenal the 2.30 favourites with Dafabet.
