Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta is adamant that manager Pep Guardiola will adapt to the Premier League quickly and deliver success at Manchester City.

The former Barcelona midfielder and coach is now trying to crack the English top flight after further adding to his legacy at Bayern Munich.

Guardiola helped the Bavarians win several league titles and domestic cups during his time there and is now determined to help City push for more silverware.

He has already signed the likes of Ilkan Gundogan, Nolito, Leroy Sane, John Stones and Claudio Bravo this year and Iniesta believes he will get the best out of those players.

Iniesta played under Guardiola for four years at the Nou Camp and he is adamant that his work both on and off the pitch will steer the club to glory.

“Pep knows how to adapt and he’ll adapt to the Premier League,” he told the Daily Mail.

“He has made sure to get people on his staff who are going to help him do that. Mikel Arteta is only going to speed up that process.

“And they have strengthened the squad very well over the summer.

City are competitive in all departments. I know Nolito very well because he was with me at Barcelona and he’s a team-mate with Spain.

He’s made a great start. I hope that everything goes well for him and that he continues to play as well as he has so far.

“And David Silva was already there. I have admired him throughout my career. He is exceptional.” City can be backed at 2.40 to win the Premier League title this season.
