Harry Maguire believes the future is bright for Leicester under Brendan Rodgers and he has praised the impact the former Celtic boss has already had.

Rodgers was appointed as Claude Puel’s successor at the King Power Stadium in February, and has guided the Foxes to four consecutive wins after losing his first game in charge against Watford.

Leicester are now very much in the race to finish seventh in the Premier League this season – a position that could secure qualification for next season’s Europa League – and they will be looking to boost those hopes by making it five wins in a row when they play host to Newcastle on Friday.

England international Maguire is certainly a big fan of Rodgers and he feels the 46-year-old has exceeded expectations since his arrival in the East Midlands.

“I’ve always heard off a lot of people that he’s a top coach and a great man as well,” Maguire told Sky Sports. “He’s definitely lived up to that and when we appointed him I was really excited to work with him.”

Maguire also feels Leicester’s decision to appoint a manager of Rodgers’ credentials shows the ambition the club has and he is confident they can enjoy a successful future under the Northern Irishman.

“I think it shows great ambition from Leicester as a club, obviously such a big club like Celtic and we can bring him in from there,” he added.

“His profile is really good and really high and it’s a really exciting time. Hopefully we can push on and be successful together.”

Leicester are priced at 1.73 to maintain their impressive form by beating Newcastle on Friday, while the Magpies are available at 5.00 and the draw is on offer at 3.75.
