Christian Fuchs is adamant defending Premier League champions Leicester City have the squad strength to rack up some quick wins and ease their fears of relegation this season.

Memories of Leicester’s sensational Premier League title last season are becoming a distant memory due to their dreadful domestic form in this campaign.

The Foxes have picked up just three league wins from 14 outings and they are languishing down in 15th place in the table, just two points above the relegation zone.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light has further increased the pressure on the reigning champions, who are on a five-game winless run in the top flight.

Claudio Ranieri’s men have certainly lost their spark from last season in the league, but they have magnificent in the Champions League, having already qualified for the last-16 stage of the competition.

The European form needs to be replicated on the domestic scene and Fuchs, who has scored one goal from 14 outings this term, is confident the players can improve their form.

He told the Foxes Player: “I believe that we have a lot of quality in our squad still and with a couple of wins, with a couple of points – which are crucial, obviously – we will fight our way back up.

“I think the team is motivated enough to get those points. We have a great challenge against Manchester City at home and nobody is betting on us anyway, so we will try to get the three points there.”

Leicester welcome Manchester City to the King Power Stadium on December 10 and the hosts are 4.33 outsiders to get the win, a draw is priced at 3.75, while the visitors are firm 1.75 favourites.
