Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has admitted he would relish the chance to play for Chelsea or Manchester City in the future.

The Uruguay international has fuelled speculation he could be set for a big-money move away from the Azzurri this summer to start a new life in the Premier League.

Both City and Chelsea have been linked with the 26-year-old, who has shone in both the Serie A and the Champions League during his time at the Stadio San Paolo.

With Manuel Pellegrini close to agreeing terms with City and Jose Mourinho already at Stamford Bridge, Cavani has kept his options open and has admitted he would love to play under either of the experienced managers.

He said: “I don’t know if they made an offer for me, I just know that to be coached by someone like Manuel Pellegrini or Jose Mourinho would always be a pleasure.

“And when the time is right it would be great to play for one of these teams, because when I was a child I imagined doing it – but now I am only thinking about Uruguay. In my career I have always had to deal with rumours of me signing for another team and I just have to keep my feet on the ground.”

Mourinho is believed to be keen on bring a top striker to Stamford Bridge this summer, while City are always in the market for the best players.

It may require the departure of Fernando Torres or Carlos Tevez from Chelsea or City respectively, but both have been linked with exits to potentially herald the arrival of Cavani this summer.
