England’s Shaun Murphy will be hoping to move on from his disappointing defeat in the German Masters when he does battle with Barry Hawkins in the Snooker Shoot-Out on Thursday.

Murphy heads into the tournament as the No.1 seed, just days after he lost in the semi-finals of the German Masters to Graeme Dott.

He has enjoyed a solid start to 2018 after reaching the final of the Championship League and quarter-finals of the Masters.

He is priced at 1.83 to beat Hawkins after the duo played a thrilling match back in January although Hawkins will fancy his chances at odds of 1.91.

Murphy won 3-2 last month but anything could happen at the Watford Colosseum.

World No.7 Mark Williams is also in action and he is 1.61 favourite to beat China’s Li Hang. He won the German Masters last week and is priced at 23.00 to win the Snooker Shoot-Out outright.

English pair Hammad Miah and Joe Perry meet in an intriguing clash, with the latter the 1.61 favourite while Miah is available at odds of 2.25.

Former World Snooker champion Stuart Bingham will be looking to kickstart his year with a win this weekend and he faces James Silverwood in the first round.

Silverwood is the outsider at 3.20 while Bingham is 1.33 to advance into round two.

Crowd favourite Jimmy White is also in action late in the evening as he takes on Anthony Hamilton in what could be the match of the day.

White at 2.05 could pull off a potential shock, with Hamilton the 1.73 favourite for Thursday’s contest.
