The UFC will give us an entertaining fight on February 6, when Alistair Overeem battles Alexander Volkov. Overeem is one of only two fighters to hold world titles in both MMA and K-1 kickboxing at the same time. He is 10-4 in kickboxing, fighting in the Japanese K-1 leagues.
Alistair Overeem has already knocked out legends like Badr Hari and Peter Aerts and he’s trying to work his way towards one more UFC heavyweight title shot. Overeem is 4-1 in his last five fights. He stopped Augusto Sakai in the fifth round at UFC Fight Night 176 on September 5.

Alexander Volkov is a former M-1 Global and Bellator heavyweight champion from Moscow, Russia. A professional since 2009, Volkov has plenty of experience and a decent 6-2 record since joining the UFC in 2016. He has a Tsu Shin Gen background that helps him use diverse striking techniques that not many heavyweight fighters know.
Volkov also has a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt but his three wins by submission tell us that he doesn’t use those skills much during his matches. In his last fight, he stopped Walt Harris in the second round at UFC 254 on October 24.

This will be Alistair Overeem’s last chance for a title shot and nothing less than a win will help him build his case for another title shot. This adds an extra bit of intrigue to this fight. A loss would not hurt Volkov much, though a win would get him closer to where he wants to be.
