Moonlight Cloud looks set to head to Hong Kong, not California for the Breeders’ Cup, following her impressive victory at Longchamp on Sunday

The five-year-old put in an incredible performance to win the Group One Prix de la Foret but Freddy Head has no intention of taking her back to the Breeders’ Cup.

Moonlight Cloud put in her only disappointing run of last season in the Breeders’ Cup Mile and Head is not keen to return to Santa Anita any time soon.

Instead a trip to Hong Kong looks more likely.

“She is very well this morning. She is something special,” Head said. “It was a brilliant performance from her. Thierry (Jarnet) took his time and she showed a great turn of foot.

“I think it is doubtful she will go to Santa Anita, but she probably will go to Hong Kong, that seems for sure.

“She ran badly at the Breeders’ Cup last year, it’s two turns. We’re not that keen on taking her there.

“It is one turn in Hong Kong, which is better for her.”

There have been suggestions that a run in Hong Kong could be her final competitive start, but Head has hinted he could still be training her in 2014.

“She could stay in training next year, why not?” he added. “She still seems fresh and well, so we will see. Nothing is decided yet.”
