Connections of Simple Verse have confirmed that they have yet to decide which race she will run in on Qipco British Champions Day at Ascot on October 15.

The four-year-old, who won the St Leger in 2015, currently holds entries in the Group One Fillies and Mares Stakes which she won last season with ease.

The bay filly is also entered in the Group Two Long Distance Cup but connections are happy to bide their time before making their decision ahead of the big day of racing.

Simple Verse had failed in three races over a mile and a half this term but she finally adjusted and claimed a win on her last outing at Doncaster earlier this month with jockey Oisin Murphy on board.

After that success, the team behind her are looking at all options for Ascot, according to racing manager David Redvers.

He told Sky Sports: “Ralph’s plan immediately after the Park Hill was to go for the stayers’ race.

Whether she goes for that depends if she stays in training next season.

“That is a discussion myself, Ralph and Sheikh Fahad have yet to have.

At this moment in time she will go for one or the other.

Ralph feels strongly about the stayers’ race but it is only a Group Two and she is Classic winner.

“If we decide to go down the staying route next season there is a chance she will go for the longer race.”
